Perfect Stay, Comfortable and brilliantly looked after.

Pros: Warm and friendly welcome, delightful family who own the hotel. The mother bakes delicious special treats when she is on duty Well equipped room with tasty snacks and drinks and comfy bed. Good double glazing shuts out noise from the busy harbour area. Perfect balcony to perch on and watch all the comings and goings of the lively harbour area. Perfect location for enjoying the old town of Chania. Excellent restaurant at the hotel with enormous breakfasts of delicious local produce. Very friendly staff who were very helpful and told us about a local parade which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Wonderful hotel sitting on the port in Chania old town.

Pros: This was our first time in Crete, made even more enjoyable by staying at the Cretan Renaissance. The location - sitting above the Chania harbour; the staff - always so helpful & pleasant; the room - good sized (we chose the one with the balcony) and everything about Chania was great. Some good restaurants away from the tourist hot spots; the beach is about 15 minute stroll and the shopping (jewellery & leather goods in particular) is very good. Favourite jewellery stores were Midas, Armand and Mitos. Semiramis was our go-to restaurant, but the Cretan Renaissance restaurant - Arismari (where breakfast is served for guests) was also very good. Happy to recommend Cretan Renaissance and we’d happily return for 3-5 days.

Cons: We selected the front room with balcony, which sits above Arismari restaurant. Like most of the restaurants around the port they are open late most days and on a Friday-Saturday into the early morning. There is sound penetration into the hotel room, so if you’re a light sleeper (which we’re not) just be aware there’s a slight trade off for the view. Small flight if stairs up to the room also, so if you have mobility issues be aware.

Pros: A wonderful and small hotel located by the harbour with amazing view from our room. This hotel is beautifully decorated in romantic homely style. The owner himself works there among other staff and all of them were so friendly and kind. The restaurant in the front of the hotel serve amazing food with excellent service.

Cons: Nothing to dislike.

Absolutely perfect for us!

Pros: Perfect spot on the harbour and above their classy restaurant Arismari, we had the balcony room which was perfect in the evenings, with a beautiful view from inside and outside. Beautiful breakfasts, friendly staff and owners, we loved our 6 nights in Chania with the old town alleys, boutique shops and restaurants all around, but also very quiet at night. Restaurant played the most beautiful relaxing soft music in the evenings to make the vibe even more special!

Beautiful Venetian style hotel

Pros: Super location directly on the harbour with fantastic views across the harbour and out to sea. The double glazing was very efficient and there was no noise from the busy walkway below. Elena on Reception was super friendly and helpful in every respect and made us feel very welcome Our room was huge, very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Welcome bottle of wine, savoury nibbles and chocolate wafers plus complimentary water were all in the room on arrival On leaving Elena presented us with another gift of olive oil soap and body lotion in a pretty net bag We had dinner at the restaurant below the hotel and the food was superb - definitely a cut above! The breakfasts there were also delicious with plenty of choice.

Cons: The aircon was a bit noisy and the fan blew down directly on one side of the bed so we could not keep it on while sleeping We had a jacuzzi bath in our bathroom and while there was an overhead shower on the wall over the bath, there was no curtain or screen and it was difficult to shower without having a flood!

Wonderful stay - would definitely recommend as a great place to stay when visiting Chania

Pros: Loved the location overlooking the harbour in the old town - with everything just a few steps away. Helena on reception was so friendly and always happy to advise on activities/ destinations. Breakfast was included and the yogurt bowl was absolutely delicious.

Cons: The top step between the bedroom and kitchen area could be a little tricky especially when visiting the bathroom at night.
