The BEST place to stay in beautiful Chania

Pros: This is the most wonderful place! The location is fantastic, the views across the iconic harbour are spectacular, the food is absolutely delicious and the staff are wonderful! The apartment is huge with a massive and extremely comfortable bed. The location is perfect. Dimitri is a charming, attentive and generous host. I cannot recommend this place highly enough…I’m in room 4 and I shall definitely be back!

Cons: There’s nothing not to like!

Location location location

Pros: The location of this property couldn't have been better. The bed was very comfortable. The restaurant downstairs was very friendly and excellent food.

Cons: There were no staff aside from a housekeeping person and the owner of the restaurant downstairs. Check in was awkward because it was unclear that we were supposed to go through the restaurant, as our messages told us to go around to the back door, which we did... and it happened again the next day to someone else, so I'm sure it's not uncommon. Not such a big deal once you figure it out, but we felt bad for the restaurant owner who was trying to run his establishment and run for a doorbell.

Clean and cost-effective comfort in the centre of Chania

Pros: I very much enjoyed my stay at Villa Venezia. It was very clean and comfortable, perfectly located with stunning views (I hardly needed to leave my room with a view like that), very kind and helpful staff, a comfortable bed, good air-con, fast wi-fi, a perfectly adequate shower / bathroom and overall good value for money. I’d definitely recommend it.

Cons: The only minor things I’d say is the reception / corridors of the hotel are dated in their decor and need updating. The noise in the room is considerable at night yet to be expected given the very central location. Also the sound of hundreds of glass bottles being emptied into a recycling truck woke me around 5am ever morning but this is beyond the control of the hotel.

Pros: Quirky old building in central location. Budget accommodation.

Cons: An historic building but room needs serious modernisation. Who uses a hip-bath with high entry wall? Needs a shower. Big tv but nowhere to plug it in. Bedside lamps with no electricity sockets. Not suitable for people with mobility problems. - steep stairs. Help offered.

Pros: The perfect break in the perfect location. The staff and the restaurant were excellent. The room, although traditional, was spotlessly clean. We look forward to returning again.

Cons: Couldn't fault it.

Pros: Location, close to everything. Tour pickup locations from local companies, were just a couple of minutes walk away in the Talos Square. I was able to leave my windows open every day/night. So many restaurants to choose from in walking distance. The team running the restaurant under the Room were so welcoming everyday Easy walk to the beaches to cool off

Great experience of first time in Hania. Would happily stay again!

Pros: Great location. Clean and functional. Good value for money. Our flight was delayed and the staff waited way beyond our agreed late check in time.

Cons: Quite dated, but that was fine, not really a criticism.

Traditional hotel with amazing views and great location

Pros: Proximity to Chania Port and restaurants. Comfortable bed, very efficient air conditioning, room made up and fresh towels daily

Cons: Room is smallish compared to other places we have stayed at in the Port district but this wasn't a major issue for us, as we didn't have much luggage.

Amazing view clean central room

Pros: Amazing by location with a full view of the old port, the balcony was the best people watching spot and we had direct access via the steps. Out the back door was straight into the narrow streets of the old town. Room was clean and comfortable, somewhat dated but perfect for what we wanted. I worked from the room and the wifi was strong. Would stay again
