Domus Renier Boutique Hotel

Absolutely lovely.

Pros: What a beautiful experience to stay in this very lovely waterfront boutique hotel located in a gorgeous building in the Venetian Harbor, and with an absolutely wonderful staff who really make you feel at home. The service is above and beyond in this lovely place, the breakfast is amazing, prepared by incredible chef, Maria, and the views from the (very large, and beautifully equipped) rooms are a dream!

Stunning building, great location, immaculate staff. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

Pros: Beautiful building in a great location - the old Venetian royal residence, set back just behind the seafront. Quick and easy access to the Old Town and harbour. The room was lovely - tasteful decor, comfortable bed, great shower, plenty of space and storage. Breakfast also excellent - choice from a menu, with a mix of Cretan/Greek options and the more usual cooked suspects. Most of the pastries etc. were homemade - you could tell from the taste. Staff were incredibly helpful and nothing was any trouble. They had great recommendations for Chania and Crete more widely. All in all, a really memorable stay and not particularly expensive.

Cons: Nothing!

Perfect place to spoil yourself.

Pros: This is a gem of a hotel, nestled right in the heart of the old port above eateries with access through the front restaurant or the rear. Breakfast is served from a menu with great options to choose from and is just perfect.

Cons: There is nothing not to like about this place. We have stayed there twice and would highly recommend it. The staff are all so attentive and helpful nothing is too difficult. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Pros: Unreal staff. Spot on! Had a few minor issues which we reported to reception for posterity, Most of these have been covered by other reviewers. A treasure in Chania. Super accommodating and helpful staff. Bravo!

Cons: Great location and hotel, so I really don't want to say anything negative, but here you go: Something that's strange to me: breakfast is served backwards (imo). I would like my food + orange juice and then the other guff (croissants etc) afterwards, if I am so minded.

Wonderful, worth writing a review for!

Pros: The view from our suite is unforgettably stunning. Breakfast was great and service was attentive and genuine. We had really good restaurant recommendations and ideas of what to do in Chania during our short stay here. It will be hard to come back to Chania without staying at this hotel again!

Cons: Aircon didn’t work as expected on the first night. We found the place a little stuffy without it even in the winter, but this could be because we came from the tropics.

Perfect location, superb breakfasts and fantastic people who really understand customer service.

Pros: Perfect location right on the harbour front. It was lovely to wake up to that beautiful view of the sea and the Egyptian lighthouse. All the staff were exceptional but Ramona and George in particular were so helpful and couldn’t have taken better care of us - they made our stay. The breakfasts were also amazing. We would definitely stay there again.

Cons: There wasn’t anything we didn’t like but, being really picky, the bathroom in the standard suite was a little on the small side and we didn’t really use the little lounge area on the mezzanine level so that was wasted space for us in a room with quite a small footprint, although the lofted ceiling made it feel more spacious. Generally the hotel - an historic building - was beautifully designed and sympathetically renovated.
