Despina Apartments

Good

Pros: Apartment was spacious and clean. Very good air conditioning. I felt that the property was overpriced at €110 a night, normally for this price you would get breakfast included. The staff in the restaurant were excellent, especially Alex who was so kind and friendly. The food was of a good standard, my husband particularly like the Gemista (stuffed pepper and tomatoes) which according to him was the nicest he had tasted.

Cons: Our apartment came with a small terrace, unfortunately it wasn't private as it was situated beside the cleaning storeroom and the cleaning staff were around the area from early, getting supplies, smoking or having their lunch. I had requested a private balcony although assured that all requests are usually fulfilled mine wasn't. Although the cleaning staff were lovely, we couldn't really relax on the terrace and unfortunately this took away from the holiday. Another issue was that there were only 12 sunbeds around the pool for 22 apartments and there was very little space between the end of the sunbed and the pool, which made it feel very cramped.

Fantastic location on the beach, and great views from apartment.

Pros: Fantastic loaction on the beach. Main road with restaurants and supermarket just up the street, and also the bus stop to Chania. Dont miss the Minos restaurant! Sunbeds on beach for free if we used the restaurant. Fair pricez and food ok. A few old sunbeds by the pool. Pool nice and clean, nice showers and toilets. Room very spacious. Common area and kitchen on first floor, bedrooms on second. AC worked well. 3 balconies. Big like rooftop balcony with great views. Beds comfy enough. We liked that the hotel was quite small and personal.

Cons: We didnt really use the great balcony that much, because it was shared with another room. It was partially divided for privacy protection, but half of it was not. Got a bit too intimate to dine with the neighbours. Also, a beachbar nearby played really loud music for aterbeach party. The saturday, the music was really loud between 1500h-0100h. Not the hotels fault though. Cleaning was ok but not great. Shower drain full of hair on arrival and wasnt removed during our stay. Sand was left in beds when the beds were made. The poolarea had great potential but was not really taken care of. Could def use some tlc. Not very cozy vibe. Sunbeds old.

Great location

Pros: This hotel is in a great location. Our room was large and clean. The pool is right on the beach. We had drinks and snacks on the beach chairs provided which were great.

Excellent place to stay

Pros: Close to beach with private sunbeds. Daily room clean . Helpful staff

Cons: Beds a bit hard for my taste but that’s only a personal preference

Excellent accomodation

Pros: Superb location, beautiful maisonette right by the sea side. Lots of restaurants to visit which are very close. Hotel food was amazing as well. Very clean & highly recommend! Keep it up

Pros: Zdecydowanie polecam :) Jakie plusy: - rodzinna atmosfera panująca w obiekcie, - dbałość o czystość pomimo faktu, iż to to nie był luksusowy hotel a tylko kameralny pensjonat, - bardzo życzliwy personel od rejestracji po personel sprzątający, - doskonała lokalizacja - same centrum a jednak w zacisznym miejscu, - bliskość rodzinnej restauracji, która serwowała bardzo dobre greckie potrawy.

Har leid på Despina i flere år og trives veldig godt

Pros: Beliggenhet og personalet er kjempe bra. Leiligheten er stor og god.

Cons: Døren til badet kunne ikke lukkes og låsen var på gal side av døren.
