Monte Vardia

Pros: The Monte Vardia is a very special place, very calming and the family that run it provided the most generous and attentive hospitality to me. Incredible views out over the sea from the terrace on the upper floor, and the garden gets beautiful evening light which make it a great place to sit for a golden hour drink. Pros: I can’t begin to tell you how amazing Monte Vardia is! From the moment we arrived, we both knew that we were at home! I have travelled a lot around the world and this was one of the cleanest, friendliest and some of the most incredible hospitality you could ever receive at a hotel. The breakfast is to die for and is incredibly fresh, with amazing home style cooking. Monte Vardia is the perfect base after exploring all the amazing beaches that Chania has to offer and is only a 5/10 minute drive down to old town. Lovely Experience @ Monte Vardia

Pros: Amazing homely hotel lovely pool, The sisters who ran it were the nicest people as were rest of the staff..love lil bar and food delicious..All good .thankyou

Cons: Set on a very busy main rd about 4km from town, you certainly require some mode of transport to get about especially as they're not big on pavements locally. Was sorry to not say a goodbye and thankyou to Helena or Christina in person so if you gals are reading this, sending a big hug, thankyou so much for your great hospitality.

Cons: You will need a car to get anywhere but that’s ok because you will most likely rent one and they have parking. The hotel it is old and in need of a little love.

Pros: Great location with local bus service to the old town, suggest taking the # 18 bus because parking is very limited. The staff is over the top with hospitality!!!!! . Great sister tandem that runs the hotel, with an amazing breakfast buffet including fresh eggs of your choice and bacon , freshly squeezed orange juice and many delicious choices ! I was under the weather one day and they offered me some soup from their mom's medicinal recipes, and it worked !!!! Room at the back was very quiet from the main road , pool was very clean and inviting. Can't say enough good things about our stay here.

Pros: This hotel is a little gem we stayed 7 nights the sisters that run the hotel are brilliant they pamper to your every need. The breakfast was really good everything you could ever want if it's not there they will get it. The room was cleaned every day they gave us towels for the beach and changed them when needed. The room was quiet at night with the patio doors shut but if you like the doors open then it could be a problem as the hotel is next to the airport road and main road to chania.we had cool evenings at the end of September so not a problem.

Cons: Only had a small bathroom but functional.

Pros: Fantastic place, I'll recommend it to everybody! The owner is the most hospitable person, she went out of her way to make us feel welcome. In fact, all of the staff are very helpful and kind. The room was clean and had everything we needed, and the view from the terrace was amazing. The food was really tasty and the pool was nice, too. Overall, it was a great stay.

Brilliant hotel and facilities

Pros: Hotel was lovely, pool was great and not busy, staff were so friendly and attentive. Breakfast was delicious, had a Cretan salad for dinner at the restaurant and it was the nicest salad I had in Crete.

Cons: WiFi wasn't great but not an issue if you're not working or anything and TV Very small.

Cons: Grasshoppers were very loud, but I think that is a common thing in Crete overall 😆
