Kochilas Rooms & Taverna – Warm, local charm with stunning views

Pros: We really enjoyed our stay at Kochilas Rooms & Taverna! The room was spacious and comfortable, with a lovely balcony overlooking the Chrysoskalitissa Monastery and the endless blue of the Mediterranean Sea – the sunsets from here are truly breathtaking. Downstairs, the taverna serves excellent fresh seafood – definitely worth trying after a day out. It was also very kind to be able to use the washing machine during our stay. The location is great: close to the famous Pink Beach, and even better, just a short drive from Kedradasos Beach, which we’d recommend for its natural shade, calmer vibe, and fantastic swimming and snorkelling. There are also two mini-markets nearby for daily essentials. What really makes Kochilas special, though, is the warm, familylike atmosphere. Everyone goes out of their way to help and make you feel at home. All in all, a lovely and authentic place to stay on Crete’s southwest coast!

An incredibly good place, both because of its great location and its lovely owners.

Pros: Owned by a truly lovely and welcoming family. They shared great tips with us, and we enjoyed chatting with them in the evenings. I highly recommend this place not only because of the wonderful family but also for its beautiful location. It’s close to the monastery and to a small bay called Voulolimni, and another hidden gem the natural pool, which is still untouched by tourists – it’s incredibly beautiful, especially at sunset, and just a short walk away. It’s also very close to Elafonisi; I recommend going there early in the morning around 6 or 7 am to really enjoy the beach before it gets crowded and burning hot.

Cons: Our room was on the back side, so we didn’t have a sea view, but it was nice that it had air conditioning. The room itself was quite small for two people, and since we’re not a couple, the double bed felt a bit too small for us.

Pros: It was so clean and the stuff was helpful and kind. Location is perfect for elafonissi stay

Pros: The owner was very nice and kind. Also I liked the view from my roo. and it is a very peaceful location. It is 6 min drive from Elafonisi beach but there is a lake walking distance far. My room was clean and comfortable with wardrobe.

Good one night choice

Pros: The room itself is new and recently renovated. Bathroom and room have everything you need. Good room for a one-night stay. There is a monastery in walking distance and is close to Elafonissi beach by car.

Cons: The surrounding area is a bit dull as there are no things close by to do. Also I wouldn’t recommend staying here for a longer period if you value spending time on the terrace or garden, as it is not so appealing to do so

Pros: everything was fine, very good contact with the host. very helpful host. clean rooms, with bathroom, balcony and basic equipment. close to restaurants and shops. quiet and peaceful area, a bit away from the sea

Pros: The room has an air conditioning and it was clean and comfortable. The wifi works well.

Cons: The view of the room was bad because the room faced the courtyard, but it was not a big problem for us.

Great location and tavern

Pros: Great location and great tavern which provides excellent food (specifically, fish catch of the day). We had a great time, I recommend.

Cons: The bed makes a bit of noise when you move.
