The stay exceeded my expectations by far, I had a wonderful time!

Pros: MmeBassia is located in a charming house in the historical part of Chania. It is perfect for exploring the city. Restaurants, bars, cafes, the old port - everything only a few walking minutes away. As the house is part of the historical part of the town, you should be fine with stairs as it can stretch up, depending on the room you take. My room and its bathroom were very clean and despite the location I couldn't hear any noise from the streets. The host Nektarios is amazing! He made sure that my airport transfer went through, despite issues with the taxis. And one day I was struggling with my health and didn't feel well. He checked in on me and made sure I was ok, this was really exceptional hospitality and I'm very thankful to him! Overall I had a wonderful time there and I'm looking forward to coming back!

Pros: I liked the place, the location, the stuff. The owner helped me at many occasions, very respectful and very generous.

Cons: The stairs: it was difficult to take that many steps up after a long day walking around the city.

Strongly recommended!

Pros: Wonderful location, quiet but central. Hospitality beyond all expectations from host and staff.

Pros: Clean room ,comfortable bed and you are right in the Town so location is good

Cons: We was at the top so lots of steps Bathroom was a bit awkward especially trying to wash your hair ( Ladies)

Central & amazing room by friendly and welcoming people

Pros: Nektarios and his family are extremely friendly and welcoming! The room was super central and had everything we needed: comfortable beds, AC, a balcony and a fridge. The staff was very helpful, giving us a room 3 hours before the official check-in time and offering for us to leave our backpacks (when we had a few hours to spend in Chania a week later and weren't staying at the hotel).

Pros: It is located in the heart of the city center. The personal was very polite. The beds were comfy. Bonus: there were two cats that visited our balcony. :)

Cons: The AC was too loud. Sleeping with windows open is also not the best option, as the rooms are in a noisy area. The bathroom in our room was with a very small sink. There is no hanger for the shower, which makes it difficult for a woman to wash her hair. Also the drain wasn't very good and the bathroom was getting flooded, every time you take a shower.

Great place to stay.

Pros: The apartment is in the pedestrianised part of old town. It is lovely and very easy access to everything. The apartment is very nice and the hosts are wonderful. Excellent value for money.

Cons: The bathroom in the room that we had (number 7) was very small and the shower was.... err.. rustic. The spiral stairs leading up to our room were quite awkward.

Pros: The welcoming staff is really really nice and helpful

A great base to explore from & brilliant value!

Pros: Fantastic location in the heart of the old town! Surrounded by plenty of streets with lots of cafés, restaurants, ice cream kiosks, and lovely souvenir shops to browse through. Just a short walk from the beautiful, picturesque waterfront & port area - great for taking a stroll and relaxing on a bench. We received a lovely welcome from the host who showed us up to the room. The room is nicely furnished with plenty of character, the balcony overlooking the street is sweet, there was a fridge in the room (handy for keeping water chilled) and the beds and sofa were comfy. We also liked the quaint shared kitchen area for making tea & coffee.

Cons: As some other reviews had mentioned, the shower is somewhat awkward and on the annoying side. The only other 'peculiarity' we found was with the bedding, which wasn't exactly made up on our arrival, and none of the duvets/blankets in the wardrobe really seemed to fit the bed properly, however, there were enough sheets etc. for us to sleep under comfortably & warmly enough, so real issue.
