Highly recommend

Pros: We stayed at these apartments for three nights, and it was truly one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. Everything was spotless, and the room had a delightful fragrance. As a thoughtful gesture, guests are welcomed with water, juice, bread, honey, and even wine. The direct access to the beach is simply breathtaking, and the terrace offers a spectacular view that you’ll never forget. Complimentary sunbeds are another wonderful touch that made our stay even more comfortable. A special mention goes to Maria, a member of the staff, who in my opinion is the very soul and true gem of this place. Her warmth and care added an unforgettable charm to our stay.

Absolutely wonderful

Pros: So well located for the beach, bars and restaurants. I think we had the nicest room in the place with direct access to the garden and an area with loungers just above the beach, a large patio, and with an amazing view of the sea with steps straight onto the beach! A really lovely place to stay. Everything was just easy, which made for a very relaxing holiday.

Cons: Nothing - it was perfect for us.

For location, comfort and views, probably the best apartments in Kalyves

Pros: Loved the absolutely stunning views from the apartment. Lovely apartment with attention detail. Hosts were very welcoming. Lovely friendly housekeeping every day, and the cleaning was second to none. The location is excellent, restaurants, shops, cafes and bakeries all nearby but the apartment was still lovely and quiet. Air conditioning was also brilliant. Loved it, highly recommend.

Cons: My wife would have liked a firmer mattress but that’s only because she has back problems. We managed with a mattress from the second bedroom. Was not a problem, we’re still going back.

Much better than we expected!

Pros: We liked a lot, much much better than expected. Even normal stairs to penthouse rooftop apartment, easy to go. Excellent terrace and what a view! Nice sound of sea - so good to sleep. And very easy to go to swim. Shops and restaurants near.

We loved it so much we are planning a return trip next year June with more family members!

Pros: We could hear the sea from our room and it was a short walk to the beach. The staff were amazing and were so accommodating - we were even gifted a bottle of wine! Nothing was too much trouble and I would highly recommend staying at Asterias.

the place to stay for visiting NW Crete

Pros: easy parking. easy access to a beach down the building. well located in the village with a Cretan grocery store nearby. Raki offered in the room.

We’ll be back!

Pros: The terraces are exceptionally well equipped and we spent most of our time on the back one overlooking the sea. The view was perfect and there was a choice of sun or shade on both terraces. The thoroughly lovely cleaner came in most days and was very kind and helpful. The studio was well equipped, very, very clean and really close to all the amenities. The BBQ and easy spa were an unexpected surprise. We didn’t use them but we liked the option. It was absolutely perfect for us.

Cons: The mosquitoes were very frustrating. The electricity required a device, which was on the keys, to be inserted which meant we couldn’t leave the mosquito repellent plug in on while we were out so unfortunately we got bitten a lot over night despite the aircon being on. I have sketer syndrome which means I have an excessive reaction to bites so despite wearing DEET, wearing appropriate clothing and putting as much in place as possible I ended up having to use my emergency pack as well. If the device could be detached from the keys it would have been perfect.

Perfect beachfront apartment

Pros: Perfect location right on the beach, with beach chairs / parasols also provided. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the staff were super friendly. We loved our stay and will visit again!

Pros: The room was designed lovely, it had everything you needed and although we had a lovely balcony leading onto Main Street it was so quiet. We couldn’t believe it was literally situated on the beach, a lovely quiet spot to definitely return to. The owners were so friendly, wine,raki,water,food,books,board games were provided too.

Cons: Nothing to dislike.

Perfect few days staying here

Pros: Everything was perfect - right on a very child-friendly beach, close to shops and restaurants, clean, beautifully decorated, amazing views and very comfortable. The hosts were keen to make sure we were enjoying our stay.
