Villa Margarita's farm

Beautifully authentic!

Pros: The Villa Margarita was absolutely stunning. The location is way up in the Cretan mountains so the views were magical, in the middle of a vineyard and olive grove. Very family oriented, which is in my opinion exactly how things should be. The family hosts were lovely, delivering us food and wine from their farm. Joanna sent us links for Google maps every day with different places to see and eat, extremely helpful. We had a wonderful experience.

Cons: The only negative I can think of is that the Sat Nav took us the wrong way on our way there. My advice would be to stay on the National Road/Highway and it’ll take you right there. We had no other problems when we realised this.

Pros: The house is in a remote location surrounded by vineyards, with beautiful views. From the pool area. The family who, own it and manage it, live nearby but the villa is a very private place. The owners were very attentive and helpful. We found some nice food in the villa on our arrival including freshly laid eggs from their farm, which was a very nice local touch. We really enjoyed staying there and very much recommend it.

Peaceful and relaxing with a fantastic hosts

Pros: The neighbourhood, the farm itself, the silence, the distance from the noisy places. The building is made of stone, it’s quite spacey for a family 2+2. And the hosts are fantastic! Very helpful. Thank you also for all the small gifts from your farm!

Cons: It’s quite far from any town- there is no place to make even the smallest groceries.

Perfect base to relax and enjoy ourselves with fantastic hosts

Pros: We were looking for a quiet holiday, well away from the crowds. If this is what you’re looking for you will find it here. Our hosts were lovely people who provided a welcome pack and more fresh produce from their own farm than we could eat! The villa is in the middle of their vineyard with views of the mountains. There is no traffic and no building going on, just the cicadas for company. There is a choice of excellent tavernas within a ten minute drive and supermarkets in Kissamos, 20 minutes away. If, like us, you prefer to cook in, the kitchen has a dishwasher and air fryer, which were very welcome. These in addition to the main oven and a barbecue, neither of which we felt the need to use. The villa has free, off road parking for your car, which is, of course, essential.

Cons: We knew what we were looking for and we found it at Villa Margarita. If you want to be independent and left to chill in the mountains of Crete this lacks for nothing.

Fantastic place to visit Chania region

Pros: Fantastic hospitality of the hosts; very quiet place; good beds; good location to visit Chania region (car is necessary); big kitchen and bathroom; very clean; good shower (not evident in Kreta); authentic building; small but practical swimming pool; good functioning air-co

Cons: A black out curtain would be great (carry a darkening eye patch if you like darkness in the early morning); excellent place if you come for rest and nature; not for party or night life lovers

Best accomodation in Kissamos

Pros: We had an amazing stay at Villa Margaritas The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming. We really appreciated the thoughtful touches they offered us fresh fruits, vegetables, and eggs, which made us feel right at home. The villa itself was lovely, clean, and well-equipped. The location was also great just 15 to 20 minutes from the town and restaurants, and perfectly situated to explore the region and go on various day trips. We truly enjoyed everything and would definitely recommend this place. A perfect stay!

Relaxing and calm. Too well fed from the great local restaurants!

Pros: Very comfortable, easy to live in. Pool was fantastic on a hot day. The owners were great, very hospitable and knowledgeable. Always some gifts from the farm. Helped us out when we were in a tight spot!

A relaxing stay in an amazing location and with a beautiful villa with lovely private pool

Pros: The villa was self-catering so no breakfast, but the hosts had provided some essentials on arrival such as milk, sugar, coffee etc which was so kind and thoughtful given that we arrived quite late.

Cons: Nothing - the villa was perfect, exactly what we wanted.

Pros: We have never had such friendly, thoughtful and generous hosts. It was a joy to stay at the loft/studio on their farm. It was a wonderful Cretan experience.

Cons: It would be nice if there was a microwave. Sometimes the WiFi connection was poor. Otherwise, it was an authentic Cretan experience.
