Absolutely gorgeous
Pros: Location is fantastic with views of the White Mountains, and the best sunsets and sunrises. The apartment was very beautiful, with hand painted furnishings (by our talented host) and art to enjoy. Our hosts were lovely and being there at the height of the growing season, they generously supplied us with tomatoes and cucumbers from the garden, to supplement the basic ingredients provided in the kitchenette (oil, salt, pepper, tea, coffee, sugar, vinegar). There's a washing machine on the terrace, and everything dries in no time. The gorgeous terrace was the main reason we booked and it did not disappoint; there were comfortable shaded areas for lounging, and even cats to play with. Chania is about 30 minutes' drive, with a street market on Thursday and Saturday - go early! The nearest beaches are about 30 minutes' drive as well. Do check out the local winery and the botanical gardens; both excellent for a tour and lunch. We hope to visit again.
Cons: Nothing we didn't like, more things to be aware of: There isn't any parking outside, only in the village square outside the tavernas. To unload, drive down to the house (first slope on the right), drop off your bags, drive down to first bend and (carefully) make a U-turn. Kitchen equipment is very basic - three ring portable gas stove, one frying pan and one saucepan, coffee pots, microwave, kettle, couple of sharp knives. There are three tavernas within 5 minutes' walk though. There isn't currently aircon (plans to install in 2026), however if you follow the Cretan custom and close shutters and windows in the day, but allow the mountain breezes in the evening, it stays cool. There are fans. It's generally 10 degrees cooler up there than in the city. There aren't many plug sockets - if you are a 'gadgets' family you may want a multi block. We managed a couple of phones and Kindles with what was available.

Pros: Lovely, helpful, friendly hosts, who try their best for their customers. From this town we went to Pachnes, the room had not been reserved on the climbing days. The hosts offered to leave our bags when we returned, the room was cleaned and we stayed another night. We recommend it to everyone who wants to admire the incredibly beautiful view of the mountains and feel the peace of this town. It has no shops or attractions. But it has three pubs and a road through valleys and mountains towards Pachnes. The bar, which is located to the right of the town statue, is staffed by a very friendly bar owner, who also cooks delicious food. If you decide to enjoy nature and stay in these apartments, visit this Cretan bar

Perfect.
Pros: We loved the quiet pittoresk village with a beautiful view on the mountains. The house was very charming with plenty of nice easy going cats, which we loved! We stayed 10 days in Kreta and this was our favorite location to stay, due to the privacy, cats and scenery.
